Admissions - Admission Procedures
Students are referred to the Gramon School by their district case manager. The first contact is a telephone conference between the school district case manager and the school admissions staff to determine both the availability of space and the appropriateness of our program for the particular student. If the placement is identified as appropriate, the district case manager will be asked to submit a complete admissions package for review.
The required admissions materials include:
- Determination/classification results
- Current IEP
- Most recent psychological, psychiatric, educational, social and medical evaluations
- Academic transcripts
- Standardized and state assessments (ESPA, GEPA)
- Health records
- Any other documents the Child Study Team may deem pertinent
Upon receipt of a complete admissions package, the admissions department reviews the documents and determines whether the student, parent and CST should be invited for an interview. If an interview is scheduled, the admissions department will explore with the student whether there is a match between the school’s programs and the student’s interests and needs. The interview is most often conducted at the school and is accompanied by a tour of the school and classroom visits. If the school, the CST, the student and the parents agree that the Gramon School is suitable for the student, the school sends a letter of acceptance accompanied by a tuition contract to the srudent's district. Upon receipt of a tuition contract, the CST initiates steps to execute the contract, provide the required additional components of the student’s records, and initiate transportation for the student to and from home.
