An essential part of the Gramon Schools curriculum is the adaptive physical education classes. These classes encourage physical, mental, emotional and social development through movement skills; individual, dual and team sports; physical fitness and lifetime recreational activities. While students learn new sports and master familiar ones, they are also learning sportsmanship, teamwork, fair-play, determination, discipline and appreciation of another’s talents. Many students initially find success at school in their PE classes and are then able to bring the behavioral, social and emotional skills originating there into other academic courses.
In addition to Physical Education classes, Gramon students have the opportunity to participate in both intramural club sports and intermural team sports. Each year, the Gramon School fields teams to compete against other school teams. Often this is the first opportunity for students to play organized sports.
For students interested in more recreational sports, intramural club sports are a great alternative. Sports include basketball, baseball, fencing, soccer, softball and volleyball.
